Hi all, just looking for some basic and sound advice on where to go on this chain/tensioner fault spread all over this site it's overwhelming for me and can't take it all in. I just this week brought a 2010 tsi vrs hatchback from an independent dealer with 70k on the clock, have 3 months warranty with the vehicle from garage.it Has mostly Skoda service history. How worried should I be right now about this engine failure? Should I be taking it straight into a main dealer and ask to check if this tensioner has been done previously and has the updated part if there is one. Should I be ringing up farmers Skoda to see what work has been done. Should I be taking out a warranty direct policy so if it goes will I be covered (or will I). I have spent all my money on this car and can't afford for it to go major wrong. Please help.

Thanks

Trev

If work has been done by a Skoda dealership it will be on their Skoda filing system for your car/registration.

Check with your local Skoda dealership first, could I suggest..?
