Can someone tell what size the U clamp is in my exhaust? Had a look earlier and its rusted and I doubt it's actually doing its job to be honest.cheers

On the factory system there isn't a u clamp so it's a pattern exhaust, so could be anything.

As far as I can see from here, it'll be 45mm/1.75" if it's the front-pipe to mid-pipe join, 38mm/1.5" if it's joining mid-pipe to rear box. Assuming that you're referring to the 2006 1.2 in your profile.
