We buy any car

Featured Replies

My son is thinking of getting rid of the monte, however he doesnt want a partex so has thought he might sell it to webuyanycar has anyone got any history with them and are they ok ?

from what I've read they're very good at offering a good price initially but after inspection they pick up any minor detail and FYUTA

I'd advise selling it privately. The kids all like a Monte as it looks like a vRS.

& if you can not get a Private Buyer try a Car Dealer / Independent because there are those that are going to match or better a WBAC offer,

cuts out the middle man or them needing to buy at auction.

As long as cash is being paid over.

Does nobody he knows want a mechanics car?

George i think hes just wants to get rid yesterday but its a nice car and serviced every 6k miles will all the best lubs and parts , i hope he walks if they start kicking the tyres

They will end up offering less than the auction price which is less than any dealer will pay him. All the WBAC cars go through their own auction house and everyone wants to make a profit from WBAC which is owned by BCA. The car would have to be perfect in cosmetic appearance, no scratches, stone chips, windscreen damage and have very good tread on the tyres etc. Every little thing will reduce the price.

That's possibly the most offensive comment I've read on here ;) .

Equally I've heard of people getting better deals than privately or trade ins.

Depends on demand for that car, essentially how easy they can shift on, along with how much damage it has.

It's worth a try as could be what you were expecting to fetch or pretty close without all the aggro of private selling.

Why not try them, you can always say no.

Just don't do the online quote, otherwise they will keep pestering. I tried it once, had a laugh at the offer, then when I came to actually sell it privately (via ebay/gumtree) I kept getting emails an texts from them. Spammed the email address and blocked the number they were texting from eventually.

Often they are upping the offer if the car is of interest, or they are just triers.

Emails received are rather easy to just delete without opening.

Every used car that interests me gets checked out on WBAC Online to see how low i might offer.

As happens with so many buying cars now.

I love the ones that have no valuation because the car actually may be on finance and they are not giving a valuation.

Offered £4,300 for my Scout, sold it privately for £5,800.

Enough said.

.....and then charge an admin fee on top!

Probably because demand at auction is low?

As above hard to shift cars get bad offers.

More than likely. I think I was lucky as it went within 24 hrs on ebay

Blimey that was good!

Some of the main dealers are offering to beat WBAC.COM prices. Personally I 'd RENAME WBAC to WE (TRY TO ) STEAL  ANY CAR. (for a lot less than you'd get in a trade in )

Yeah don't do it. And I find their TV advert infuriating, what a load of *******t. How they can promote it as a better deal than part ex and even a private sale is misleading. Trading standards should take a look. Getting SOME money for your car will of course save on your next purchase as they say, but other options will save you a lot more and probably be less hassle in the end. If you ask me their morals are nearly as questionable as payday loans. I'd rather try ebay with a starting bid near the minimum I want than go to those ssharks. Its always worth taking a few more says to avoid getting ripped off, they capitalise on people who are maybe in a rush to get rid because of particular socio-domestic situations, and I don't think it's right. I'll get off my soap box now.

Like with drugs the choice is yours, you are grown up enough to decide. "Just don't do it".

If you want a quick fix or quick cash money in your hand and not having to deal with slime and dregs of humanity often,

have them coming around demanding with menaces etc, mates checking out your house, garden, tools etc,

just punt your ropey motor to WBAC.

The ASA have already looked at it and found their claims can be substantiated

Probably down to clever wording in the ad, insinuating rather than claiming. I still think it smells funny.

As I say, all depends on the car. Because they go to auction, general everyday does better than less popular models (auction wise).

It's that which affects what you'll get offered.

It's worth a punt just in case the valuation they give you is anywhere close to private or trade in. I have known someone who got more than they were offered by several garages on a trade in on a zetec fiesta.

WBAC are great for getting rid of lemons fast, especially lemons with intermittent faults.
