I have a skoda 1.4 8v mpi and when accelerating hard i get a loud induction noise like it has a after market cone filter on it, but it's got a standard airbox and filter in. Does anyone else have this noise too.

I have the same model. It doesn't have any noise like that. Must be leaking air. Or maybe it's leaking exhaust gas somewhere?

Ok cool will have a look on the weekend. It's like a deep induction noise when ya go full beans acceleration but noise dies down towards end of the revs in the gears

Also seems to only do it under load. If rev in neutral it don't make the noise

Manifold gasket?

Trying to undo the engine cover and the bolt under the skoda badge just keeps spinning lol

I run mine with no engine cover. It used to annoy the hell out of me. I like to see what's going on in my engine bay without having to faff about with a stupid lump of plastic. It's only there to look pretty anyway.
