I'm thinking about getting the Eibach pro-kit for my Estate vRS, primarily to reduce the ride height a little (stock vRS suspension has always been a bit too high for my liking).

The Eibach Pro-kit looks like a good option as it only lowers the front by 20mm and the rear by 10mm - ideal for me as I don't like cars that are slammed to the ground and also, should also still allow for the car to be loaded up with camping gear!

 

I have a couple of questions though....

 

1. Will just fitting the Eibach springs damage or shorten the life of the OEM dampers (drop is only 20mm/10mm)? If so, would the Bilstein B12 pro kit be a better option (although a much bigger investment)?

2. Does anyone have any experience of how the pro kit affects the ride - better over bumps / firmer etc?

3. Does anyone have any experience of how the pro kit affects the handling? the vRS handling is pretty good as standard (just about).

Cannot comment on #1, but...

 

#2: It is a tad firmer, but surprisingly, it seems actually more comfortable (less "crashy") than the stock setup

#3: Handling is about the same, maybe a little less body roll.

Here is a link to my old O3, not a vRS but on 18s and it has Pro kit fitted plus B4 shocks, ride was much improved over standard but still a bit harsh due to rear Torsion set up.

Ride height perfect imo.

i have the kit new in the box in my garage - not got around to fitting it as funds are tight.. i was planning to put it in the classifieds in the next few days if you're interested?
