What's the wire for

Featured Replies

Long story short, under my dash next to the bonnet release handle i found a wire coiled up with what looks like a regular 3.5mm Jack plug on the end, and it had 2 little arms to lock it into position when it's plugged in. Oldy thing is I've no idea what it's for and what it does!

It seems to go up the A pillar and it doesn't seem to go to the lights, so anyone got any ideas ?!?

Cheers, Ben

Sounds like the aerial from a Bluetooth kit if I recall correctly. Or perhaps the microphone?

I have the standard dance radio, didn't think that came with anything fancy like Bluetooth ? I recently had my windscreen changed and just wondering if it go disconnected

Sorry, I meant an aftermarket Bluetooth kit. Something a previous owner had fitted and didn't remove all the remains when the car was sold.

Ahhhh I guess it could be !

A 3.5mm jack does sound a bit odd - are you able to upload a photo of it?

As Rustynuts says: sounds like a cable from a Parrot/Bury bluetooth kit

I think it should have added now

Yep, that's from a |Bluetooth kit, but I can't recall which one or what function it served.
