Rattle

Featured Replies

i've got an annoying rattle which has appeared this week, it seems to be coming from the dash / glovebox / pass front door area

Last night i removed the glovebox and taped/ cabletied/ insulated every moving plastic bit and tightened every screw hoping i'd cured it.

i set off this morning and it was exactly the same - i know some people have had ratles from the same area (dash end, etc) do you know what the cause was?

I have one from this area too - can't for the life of me find it. :thumbdwn:

I was convinced it was something loose behind the glovebox, but no :(

Glovebox fairies.......... :P

In other cars when I've had annoying rattles I take out my pernickity / perfecionist bruv who'll clamber about the car until he find the rattle.

Suggest you take someone out who might be able to focus on finding the rattle while you search out some bumpy bits of road!

.....or just realise that ALL cars rattle and vibrate, yes some more than others I grant you that BUT nevertheless ALL cars, at some point, will do it. Tens of thousands of screwed in, moving parts added to the fact the great british bumpy lumpy roads and my friends it is inevitable that knocks, rattles and vibration will occur, sad but true.
