Iv the 1.2 SEL 110 with a DSG box. I love it, very smooth and a joy to drive. I did have a Citigo with the ASG box, now what a load of rubbish that was.

Diesel's with DPF and EGRs require a regular 30 minute motorway run to allow them to self-clean

??

Both my Golf 1.6 TDis do it on a 30 minute trip home with first few miles city driving followed by the rest on country roads with the odd traffic lights and roundabouts. They have never needed a 30 minute run on a motorway to do a regen...

DSG makes a big improvement to 90bhp performance - 7 versus 5 gears, so lower 1st for better acceleration and higher 7th for better mpg on the mway.  Keep it below 3K and its very frugal.

I have a 1.2 tsi 110 6 speed manual and I like it. Beautiful light smooth clutch and a superb gearchange. But, despite manufacturers claiming modern petrols are approaching diesel economy, compared to my vRS SE, nowhere near!
