1.2 TSI 110 Revo

Featured Replies

Revo have recently released their stage 1 remap for the 1.2 TSI 110 engine.  Is any one tempted?  I like the idea but i'm worried about the warranty.  The Revo site says that the new diagnostic car WILL send an alert to Skoda saying that the software has been modified, even if the software has been removed.

I was looking at swapping for something quicker but i've come to realisation that i'm going to be in negative equity until its nearly 3 years old so a remap is looking more tempting.  I'm due my first service in a couple of months and have a service plan so may look at getting it done after that.

It would be good to hear what other people think about a Revo map.  Is it risky, a no brainer or just not worth it?

Maybe the "old fart" Rapid & Toledo forum isn't the best place to ask  :D

Although the Yeti seems to crop up fairly often when you google TSi tuning

Most of REVO's work on 1.2 TSi is probably on Golf, Polo & Ibiza - Ask the question on VW forums or Seatcupra.net

It's likely more guys (and girls) over there have had it done - especially at SEAT - I'd be amazed to find an Ibiza FR that hadn't had a chip or re-map.

I know I'm getting old and I do tend to fart... I'm holding off getting my 1.2tsi remapped as I can't afford to do it at the moment. Plus I have the older 105 to engine. :)

Tuning the 105 is widely available - I think REVO claim up to 144PS.

The 110 remap is new.

You make a good point.  I had a quick search on seatcupra.net but a search doesn't bring much up.  I'll sit back and wait until after my first service and see if any reviews come out.  From what i've read, Revo are very respected and you don't seem to get any issues.  I've even seen you can get a forge dump valve for maximum chav effect :)

I'd just google "1.2 TSI 105 remap tuning "

That'll cover not only suppliers but all the forums were you can see what buyers think over the last few years.

You'll soon get a feel for which tuners are good and which aren't.

Then google "1.2 TSI 110 remap tuning" to see what other options there are for the new motor.
