P0183 fuel temp sensor?

2006 1.9tdi 105.Replaced the sensor but the fault returned.i put my meter to ground and with the sensor unplugged i can measure no voltage at either pin.the code reads fuel temp sensor A circuit high input.would this suggest a short rather than a faulty ecm??

I rekon so. The harness goes into a conduit fairly close to the sensor and down into the bowels.not looking forward to tracing????????

Did you find a break in the wiring and I so where as I have just had the same problem with the light coming back on again. Any help would be gratefully received.

I found a break to both wires below the air filter housing where the cable tie goes around the wiring loom before the clip attached to the left hand chassis arm, also a 3rd wire was starting to rub through and I repaired this at the same time.
