Greenline 1.6td cambelt interval?

Featured Replies

I keep hearing 140,000 as the due date but that seems high, cars on 109,000 and had regular services, been a reps car, 3 years old so probably all motorway work.

When would you have it done?

130k or 5 years.

But best check with your Skoda retailer just in case.

For Ireland it's 140,000 or 5 years on my 2014 1.6d, whichever comes first. It can change from country to country as the longevity is a factor of climate and pollution levels/dust levels expected in air etc.

that said, If I was you, and I had a car with 109,000 done and I couldn't be 100% sure of 3 yrs of its previous life - I'd just do it. +1 on the baseline and the peace of mind.

Any car I buy I just do the belt regardless, my current superb had the belt done 5k prior to me buying it and it was redone before it went on the road as a taxi, it's a small price to pay for piece of mind that my mechanic has done it and any liability lies with him.

Don't forget to have a new can belt tensioner as well, plus a water pump. The water pump on my 1.6TDI began leaking before 80k miles so I had a new everything while it was apart.

It may be from the island of Ireland - but if it is from Lisburn then it is a God Fearing, card carrying Orange Order car and may God Save the Queen, the Union, Ian Paisleys family and any other Royalist who may travel in it!

If you tell some of those boys it is Oirish - it'll be buried in a pretty bog (with you in it)!  It'll be a white car as that's the perfect background to showcase the Union Jacks that will have been plastered all over it    :p
