2006 Skoda Superb Fuel Problem

Featured Replies

Hi Guys, new to this forum

I have a 2006 Skoda Superb 1.9tdi 130bhp

My car won't start, the reason is because the fuel pump in the boot won't turn on and prime the engine with diesel from the ignition. The fuel pump only works when connected directly to a battery and then the car will start

I've went through the fuse box beside the drivers door and they seem to be ok and I replaced the relay switch marked 267 for the fuel pump, any idea what it could be

Wires were shorted in the car and since then the fuel pump won't crank and the interior lights don't come on when the doors are opened only when you manually switch them on. (Probably unrelated but could be ran off the same relay or fuse)

Any ideas what it could be

Thanks

I have relay 167 on my list as being the fuel pump relay. Whichever it is, the coil of the fuel pump relay is fed from relay 219 which is a double contact relay in the ECU box. These relays are prone to solder fatigue at the frame terminations - open it up and resolder.

Park the wipers vertically and remove the small plug in the scuttle trim to gain access to the rearmost ECU box screw.

rotodiesel.

Checked that relay it's fine as well, fuses seem to be ok.

Also the car takes a very long time to start and then only idles for a few seconds before dying out

Have you load tested the battery?

Car sorted now, fuse 28 for the fuel lift pump wasn't in at all. 3 days it took to figure it out ????
