PS2, GT4 - which steering wheel?

Featured Replies

Ah well, as a 21st birthday present to myself, I bought me a PS2 slimline silver, and a memory card, oh - and GT4 (my single reason for buying the PS2 :o)

I find the controller very hard to use to drive smoothly, and to liven up the whole experience I want a steering wheel and pedals. I also quite fancy the idea of a frame - but would only use it ocassionally.

So - what steering wheels and pedals are out there, and how do you rate them? Can't seem to find any other than the Logitech set at

Game have a "own brand" sort of thing, the Speedster 2 and Speedster 3 wheel and pedal sets.

Both are Force Feedback, and fit on your lap easier than the Logitech - IIRC from my own research, the GT4 kit you refer to (gorgeous and yes, I'd have one too!) doesn't as standard include a lap attachment.......

The Speedster stuff is £20-30, model dependent.

i'm buying one this week (funds allowing), as I too have been struggling with GT4

Cheers Joe!

I'm not all that fussed about a lap attachment as such, as it will be going on my desk infront of my 19" widescreen monitor...

But must sat, can't go far wrong at

Logitech Driving Force Pro.

It might be £99 but it is worth it.

logitech dfp is the only one worth buying.

StuartJ was selling one.. might be worth a PM

Is that the PC World one? Can you tell me why you think that - just nice to know, thats all...

I have bumped Stuarts thread - the way I see it is a steering wheel with FREE frame!
