Auto light switch

Featured Replies

Hi there

I'm sure this has been covered before I would like to install this on my Octy, I do have dimmed rear view mirror, rain sensors and maxidot.

Does anyone know what is the exact part number for the auto light switch for the Skoda green version?

Thank you in advance.

I've just taken one out of my car. Proper Skoda one with the tunnel symbol. I bought it new about 2 years ago.

Should be 1Z0941431E for pre FL model and 1Z0941431J for FL model. I think the chromed version knob belongs to Superb.

i have one mike mentioned from ebay above and it works very well in my fl vrs, i dont have auto lights from the factory so had to buy the light sensor too

Is that chrome switch a direct swop for a preface one....

Trundlenut I have sent you a PM.

Remember it is a legal requirement to have a warning light or symbol which tells you when the front fogs are on. Just be aware that if you fit that switch, you will not be legal - the preFL has the front fog warning light in the switch itself, where the front fog symbol itself glows brighter when the fogs are on. The FL switch doesn't have this tell tale in the switch as the warning light is in the instrument cluster. I have found this information out myself after recently retrofitting front fogs to my FL. The part numbers in the above post do indeed relate to preFL and FL switches, and are different as to whether the switch has the tell tale or not.

The chromed unit works fine in the Octavia, as a few have found out by fitting them on this forum.

The unit being offered by trundlenut above would have been the correct one................

Mike,

Thanks for the update on this I can't remember now if my old switch lights up or not when the front fogs are on. I know I get a an amber light on the dash. I will look into getting the older version of the switch in that case I can always sell the other one.

The other thing I wanted to ask was as I didn't have the purple cable in pin 2 on the switch connector I run a repair wire from this pin to connector "E" pin 14. I have read another post on here and someone mentioned it should be connector "A" pin 20 http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/366982-auto-lights/?p=4341252 . I have followed this guide instead http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/74556-light-assist-retrofit/?p=952061

Can someone confirm which connector and which pin should be enabled?

PS. Sounds like pin 20 on "A" connector is for the FL model and connector "E" pin 14 for pre FL.
