VHS to DVD

Featured Replies

Does anyone know of a reputable company that can transfer VHS to a DVD or flash drive or the like? A mate has some video of his brother who passed away a few months ago from when they were kids.

Cheers

Kit :)

Most Independent TV retailers used to offer the service -- I think our local Sony Centre still does, even though they are now a Euronics outlet, dig out your local traders mag (mine came through the letterbox yesterday), and have a look through it first.

MIL got one of them kits in aldi/lidl a while back.

Works a fine job, but the software supplied is dire.

NCH do a decent free trial of theirs which works well.

Just need a reasonable spec laptop to do the recording.

Or as above..

VHS/ DVD recorder combo's are cheap as chips. I've used one a few times to record VHS to disc. Usisng the rear inputs you can even record camcorder tapes to disc.

I had some camcorder tapes transferred to dvd some time back by these people: https://www.video2dvdtransfers.co.uk/

I was more than satisfied with the service they gave, & just having a quick look before posting the link, the website is clear on how much everything costs. I've since downloaded Movie Maker so I can copy sections of video from the dvd's to make compilations of different subjects from them.

Quite a few available - Ebay

The advantage of the paid for service is that they can usually save tapes that have stuck together, a big issue with videos that havent been played for a few years.
