Couple of VRS issues

Featured Replies

Just noticing a couple of issue with my motor.

First one, since i bought it a couple of months back i notice there is a slight rattle which appears to come from the n/s front area, only notice it at low speed on a bumpy surface, and just to be awkard its only there sometimes, so no doubt when i take it back to dealers (its still under warranty) there'll probably say they couldn't hear it when they took it out for a run. It could be any number of things i guess, but to give me a start does anyone know of any common issues in  that area that could cause the rattle.

Gave it a little bit of a thrasing in town today as well and noticed there was a slight smell of petrol, is that usual for one of these

No, you shouldn't smell petrol.

How old is your Fabia.

This is an early DSG rattle thread and there have been plenty more in the 5 years since.

(some people feel left out when they have one that is not noisy, and there are such cars.)

Maybe your noise is different though.

Been for a run, and the fuel smell, it was the ummm, air freshener! H ad the air con blasting out yesterday, first time in a while when i thought i could smell fuel. Nothing today until i put air con on again, just happened to take the air freshener off the vent and it was gone, perhaps i need to buy a new scent

As for the rattle, done a test and indeed that is when i hear it between gear chanages, although most people on that thread thought it was between 2nd and 3rd, i noticed it between 1st and 2nd
