very heavy braking induces "limp" mode, but no warning lights

Featured Replies

Peeling off the M6 somewhere in Cumbria, a "T" junction rather than the expected roundabout, took me somewhat by surprise, braked v. hard, got stopped fine, but then in limp mode, when pulling away, even after I pulled the floor mat from beneath the throttle pedal.

Drove about 13 miles, stopped, left her a few seconds with the key outta the ignition, tried again, but still in limp mode, left her about 30-to-60 mins, restarted and all was 100%.

Not no warning lights at any time.

Bloody computers!

PS

600 miles, in 20 hours, with a few stops, M'way and ordinary roads, gave an indicated 63mpg, all while "making progress", as best possible.

700 miles in 26 hours if the N Irish leg was counted in, & thank goodness the youngun shared the driving.

Specially the homeward leg after I had had a wheen o pints of absolutly superb Theaksons Best Bitter in The Fat Lamb in Cumbria.

Wed past in the glorious sunshine and heat.
