[04:54:04] + Attempting to send results

[04:54:12] - Unknown packet returned from server, expected ACK for results

[04:54:12] - Error: Could not transmit unit 02 (completed January 15) to work server.

any ideas?

Does the internet work OK during these periods? It uses the internet explorer settings for its connection to the internet. If its on dial-up or disconnected from the net on BB, then it won't send. However, it shouldn't lose the data, just keep trying until it gets a connection.

You're making good progress though.

well its on the work internet connection, just been into the settings its using a poxy server, i've checked the settings and they are ok. Could it that the powers that be have blocked the connection? its downloading work units, so why can it not send them?

anyway of taking the files home and sending them?

Strangely, I'm having similar problems today on both my pcs.....

[15:12:39] + Attempting to send results

[15:13:32] - Couldn't send HTTP request to server

[15:13:32] + Could not connect to Work Server (results)

[15:13:32] (171.65.103.100:8080)

[15:13:32] Could not transmit unit 06 to Collection server; keeping in queue.

Any ideas? Same thing happening on both!

F@H uses HTTP both to send results and receive new work units, so in theory it should work even through a web proxy.

However, I suspect that some proxies are set to restrict the amount of data sent back to the website with a HTTP 'PUT' or 'POST' command. Presumably the idea is that sending a few kilobytes of data is legitimate (filling in a form, for example), while sending megabytes is probably uploading pictures and shouldn't be allowed.

Or, more likely, the server is just busy?

hmmmm...... but it's been trying to send results since just before 7 this morning! So I guess that rules out the server being too busy - unless it's having a bad day of course ;)

Weird thing is, it has happily downloaded a new work unit on both pcs, and these are processing normally... so I guess 'something' 'somewhere' must be blocking the results? I haven't changed any settings tho, and until this morning they were sending ok..... just have to wait it out and see!

Patience paid off... both pcs finally sent off their WUs just after Shameless started tonight ;)

would still like to know what caused it but I guess it's gonna remain one of the great mysteries of life!!
