Wax-Planet

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

Over the past few months I've been keeping an eye on Wax-Planet as the company grows. They are a manufacturer of their own waxes and the reviews have been very favourable.

A bit off their website:

"The need for quality is reflected in our products. For years we at Wax Planet have been committed to car lovers and collectors. Our Handmade unique products do not have to meet either sales targets or production budget constraints. This has allowed Wax Planet to become what it stands for today: high-value care by perfectionists for perfectionists."

"Why order wax from waxplanet.co.uk?

All of our waxes are hand poured and blended here in the UK from our South Yorkshire based company Wax-Planet. T1 grade, hand poured Carnauba & Montan Wax for ultimate shine and protection All of our fabulous waxes are hand poured in South Yorkshire We aim to dispatch your order within 24 hours (custom blends allow 48 hrs) Bespoke Blending Service available. A former member on here, Shaun, has highly recommended the waxes and his reviews on them have been really useful, so I have taken the plunge and ordered a sample pack of 3 of their most popular waxes; Oblivion, White Noise and iWax, all for a bargain price of £27 delivered!!

I'll keep you guys updated as I test them, but I'm quite excited. Tony offers a 100% money back guarantee if you are dissatisfied with his waxes! Now that is confidence in your products.

Very nice - the reviews look good Neil!

Thanks for posting up buddy.

PS - i hope ShaunyShine is doing well too

Nice write up here buddy! I'm going to order them myself. For the price you can't say no.

I was talking to Shaun yesterday and he said they're brilliant for the money. Other products he's recommended have been awesome too so won't be disappointed!

Had a little play with iWax and Oblivion today.

I left iWax for too long to start with and it was a bit of a pain to get off. But a panel at a time was much better. Gloss is great and smells really nice! Apple I think.

Oblivion was easier to use, but don't leave it for too long either. Gloss is epic on this. I wouldn't say they were the easiest to use, but the prep wasn't great to be honest. I gave the car a quick going over with SRP after a wash as I'm we will be looking to sell soon. Oblivion smells unbelievable! Chocolate orange!!

Anyway, I will be having another play as I want to get the application nailed down before I judge it too much. So I will follow this up with an application on the Superb at some point with White Noise to trial also. So apart from the nearside of the car and the rear bumper, the whole car was coated with IWax. Then the nearside was coated with oblivion. Then I did the bonnet and wings with oblivion as I wanted to play about with application.

Removal was on the grabby side, but this was down to my application I think. A few pics are required i think.

Will be really interested on your application Ste.

A bit of beading this morning on the focus. Pretty impressive given the lack of prep with no decontamination stage.

IWax first.

I had a second play with iWax this morning on the Superb. Having honed my technique with the application I was much more confident. It was much easier to work with compared to last time. I would say you can get away with doing quarter of the roof max before removal, quarter of the bonnet etc. My boy had a go with removing it (he's getting the bug!) and summed up removal perfectly, saying it was a bit sticky, but not difficult. Just be sure to have a decent grip of the cloth. The finish is pretty epic! I'll let the pictures do the talking!

So, after a much more successful application, it gets a big thumbs up! I'm sure on a fully prep'd car, the stickyness on removal would be greatly reduced.

Thanks for reading!

Looking good Neil...... that's for the extra info on the products.

The car is looking great - impressive that your young lad is so keen too!

Really does come up lovely that car Neil, top job!

Spot on Neil, if I can get results like yours on a black car id be well chuffed!

Happy so far mate, but it has been topped by Q Sealants on both now, so not a fair reflection on durability etc.

I saw over on DW that iWax is less grabby on removal if you use a short pile MF instead of the Carpro Boa style cloths. Just a heads up. Looking forward to your thoughts on them mate!

Thanks for the info mate

Shame really as i tend to use the BOA style for wax off duties.

I keep the shorter pile cloths for polish/residue removal in the main.

Oh well - we shall see..... i need to find a free weekend to have a play.

I might share with Karl as well as he is local and may have some time before i do.

The short pile MF's are preferable for wax removal regardless of brand of wax used...makes even the fussiest wax easy to remove..remember also to keep turning the MF so you are using a clean side, ideally for every panel.

Deep pile MF's are only good for things like quick detailing sprays or spray sealants etc.

cheers

Thanks for the heads up, Chris.

Which short pile MF are you using at the mo if you don't mind me asking?

No worries.

I use both the yellow detailer's preference from Costco (or ebay/amazon if you aren't a member) and the grey MF's from Autosmart.

Brand new yellow's above get used for Gtechniq coating removal.

The Polished Bliss deluxe towels are my preference for using with QD's...short pile also works fine for this too.

cheers

Chris

Interesting - thanks for the info chaps.

Seems i may have been spoilt with my favourite wax blends - as plush long pile MF's are my preference and no issue.

Examples being Auto Perfection Intensify and Evolve....... my benchmarks for easy or use AND performance.

I do have a bag of the cheapie Costco MF's in the garage though; so i'll wash and prepare a few of those for the Wax-planet testing
