Sorry, not convinced re brake fluid & plugs

Re Plugs - tsi engines are quite hard on them

Re Brake fluid - how do you know when it's needed?  Over the years I've seen some terrible brake fluid come out of braking systems and have seen brake pipe failure after rusting from within, control valve failures (internal rust) , slave cylinder failure. In more modern systems mositure can cause havoc with an ABS unit.

After you've drained a few and seen milky or dark or rusty fluid emerge(it's hygroscopic)  - considering it's a life critical system - I always have my brake fluid changed as per the service intervals, although I let others do it now.

Point taken, see mine is due next year as they appear to recommend 3 years for the 1.2 TSI.

Thanks, does anyone have a fully itemised listing of what and when re: servicing???

Always important.  The FREE Wash & Vacuum.  Body Inspection, funnily done before the Wash.

then the basics, Oil & Filter, the Road test, the Diagnostics, the Updates if any, the Report, the resetting the Service Indicator. Correctly you hope!.

Brake Fluid change an extra £52, or what they decide to charge.

Then the pre service Up-selling,  Engine / Injection Flush / A/C Service,  after the Service, the Corroded Brake advice.

The important stuff they charge for might not get replaced or checked, the Technicians decides,

maybe some will change the Pollen / Cabin Filter each 2 years, some the Air Filter or Plug at 4 years / 40,000 miles.

Some might tell you the Haldex needs doing at 3 years, not a concern on a 1.2tsi,

and the DSG at 40,000 (£179), even if a Dry Clutch DSG and it does not need doing on a 1.2tsi.
