I damaged my car

Featured Replies

I ran Fabia_C86.exe on my fabia because I wanted the login code. But to my surprise this program was for resetting the Km.

Well...I hit the Save Eprom button because I wantted the EEPROM (bin file)

of my ECU.

Well my car it's damage. I did it. I know that. There's a way to fix it?

Or I have to spend hundreds of dollars? There's a way to load back a good EEPORM to the clustter?

I need help please. I don't know what to do!

My fabia is the 1.4 16V 100BHP (AUB).

What tool did you use, where did you get the Fabia_C86.exe program from and what is it supposed to do, and which Address (controller) were you trying to program - ie Address 17: Instruments or Address 46: Central Convenience? Does you car start and run OK or have you got problems with the immobiliser? I don't have any answers for you but it might help others if we have more information. And have you had a look at Ross-Tech's site here. It has good advice - and warnings about what you should and should not do.

I have tried searching for that programme on the web but can only find mention on a Russian site under Fabia dash tools. Is it a programme for 'clocking' or altering the mileage?

The name of the tools is Fabia C86 by GOPEL. The car tries to start but stops. The tools access the 17: Instruments cluster.

The Kms its now 0000000! And when I turn the key the instrument panel say ERROR.

Thanks!

Opps.

Sounds like it wil need a new dash cluster then. ERROR or FAIL is usually displayed when there is a fault with the dash or login has locked key programming out.

OK. Found the tool details. It reads the immobiliser code and enables the odometer (mileage) to be altered. The UK price of the combi-instrument panel you need is around £350 sterling and I believe that you will need to have it reprogrammed for your car by a Skoda dealer. An expensive mistake to make. I recommend that you don't try and adjust the new one yourself.

I think the moral of the story is not to try and clock the milage.
