How do I reset my average fuel consumption reading in my new Fabia...

Featured Replies

Current range is 385 miles

Photo taken car is only used 2-3 days a week so might take a while to move much

but front wheel of little fabia is level with the button that says selection and media

The wee car does get closer to the pump. Actually saw mine move today!

I'd like to say "Total BS!" - but I suppose that I will need to check that out first!

On wife's Polo the car shown is very accurate as it is a 5 door silver car(like her car is)!

first picture front wheel i clearly in line with the selection and media button

2nd the back wheel is now inline with the selection button

like i say the car does not do a lot of miles per week so i will update accordingly

I've still got a long time to go - or, VW removed that feature from equivalent Polos, people driving Polos are not meant to enjoy themselves!(?)

Well it sort of looks like either the little Polo has stalled or these humourless Germans made sure that Polo drivers do not  get a moving car on the fuel usage pages!

Now if that is true and I spill the beans about this on the Polo forum, I'm sure that someone will take up the challenge to sort this.

Oh, go on rum4mo, spill the beans and see what happens! lol...

It would be nice if Skoda could build one that would then deserve the graphics that comes up like on a MINI that says 'Full-on Go-Kart mode'

Oh, go on rum4mo, spill the beans and see what happens! lol...

Done it, now to wait and see what if any response(s) I get - knowing my luck, wife's car will be the only 6R 6C Polo that has a "parked Polo"!!

Oh, go on rum4mo, spill the beans and see what happens! lol...

Okay, three days in and only 149 viewings - no postings, not looking good, I'd think that the Polo guys are thinking "what the f**k is he on about?" - oh bother, but do I care!

Have you linked them to this thread

My fabia is now in the left if the screen after filling up

I'm not sure that you would want them all over here, best left to their own devices, except the few, like me that were here before eventually joining that other forum!

Okay, guess what, well, with 95 miles range in that tank, wee Polo appears to have move 1/3 across the screen - at first I could not believe it!  So, instead of filling up the tank "when convenient", I guess that I'll just wait and see what happens and in particular, see where it has moved to when the "get me refuelled NOW!" warning comes on!

Success, after posting about this on the Polo forum 6 days ago, I've had 215 views - and finally 1 posting!

Now, I wonder if the Ibiza lot need to know about this??

OK. I have tried to crash my car in to the fuel pump. Not quite there yet.

No, it won't crash - the Front Assist will kick in first!

Actually - you'll probably be stopped on the side of the road, before the Front Assist even gets a chance to kick in.

I do hope you make it to the side of road, though. At least - they're a pretty light car to have to push. Though those wide tyres and no power steering could make it a bit of a pig, if you run out of jungle juice. On the outside lane.

Due to me about to encounter serious Friday afternoon traffic I refuelled at 35 miles, so I did not get that close to the fuel pump!

Edit:- interest is picking up on the Polo forum!
