Standard cars that would whup my Octavia vRS

Featured Replies

It probably could - My Clio, if anything, seems ever so slightly quicker than a 225 TT.... they are just sooooo heavy (about 1600 kg IIRC) and the 4WD saps power.... as I said before, the 180 is just no comparison.

A Clio 182 will take a TT 180, I say this because it will definitely take an Octavia vRS, particularly on the twisties (in my experience anyway), but a TT 225 I'm not convinced at all.

I keep telling my mate that my re-mapped vRS could whup his 225bhp TT. It probably couldn't, but he drives it like a grandad anyway :)

If it's remapped to 225 then why not ? Like yer man says, the Octavia is lighter and you do lose some power to the quattro system.

A VR6 wouldnt beat a standard vRS and definitely wouldnt beat a remapped one.

A Corrado VR6 would beat a standard vRS pretty comfortably. I've had two of them, and I'm now driving a standard vRS. The Corrado is easily faster in a straight line and would destroy the Octy round the twisties.

Think the Golf VR6 would have a slight edge too, and the V6 4Motion would defo beat the Octy.

Watch out for Civic VTI's too. In 1.6 or 1.8- both very quick off the mark. Think the Octy would edge it though, especially if already rolling.

All the Type-R's (Civic, 'Teg, Accord) would beat a standard Octy. Also the Prelude 2.2 VTI.
