Northeast Detailing

Featured Replies

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a good detailer in the northeast?

I pick up a used Octavia VRS today and want it professionally detailed asap inside and out to give me a good base to work from.

The car will possibly require some paint correction.

Thanks Dave.

Hi Dave,

I would recommend Shaun Butler @ NorthEast Car Care.

He used to be a member on here as i recall - i still follow his work via Facebook.

Cheers,
Ste.

Hi All,

I've spoken to Shaun and it looks like it is a no go, he is fully booked up until 2017 :( and I am looking to get it done before the winter sets in.

So I'm no on the hunt for someone else.

Any suggestions welcome.

I will feed back in this section with pics once I find someone to complete the work.

Cheers Dave

Nightmare.... although impressive if he is so booked up in advance.... says alot about his work for sure.

Did you ask Shaun for any one he might recommend?

Sometimes these guys network quite well and are happy to feed business to other local businesses?

Yeah if it was a different time of year and I had owned the car for a while I would have waited.

I didn't, one of those I should have asked that after I put the phone down.

I know someone but they're in Altringham. Depends what you want doing and how far you're prepared to travel. Certainly worth another call to ask Shaun if he can recommend someone local....id be very surprised if he couldn't.

It's not Matt at Magic Detail is it?  :)

It most certainly is!

Gorgeous, Amanda! Cracking result and Matt does a great job, such a good egg too, how annoying!!!! I'm undertaking training with him next week on application of ceramic coatings funnily enough!

His Dad is an interesting character too. I think he was restoring a TR6 the last time I was there. The car still looks great 16 months later and is still easy to wash :)

Say hi to Matt for me (I'm the Geordie one, think he will remember me then :D)

Will do!  Apologies for the thread hijack but Matt at Magic Detail is a great detailer who can do whatever you need in terms of paint correction and protection - as highlighted by Amanda!

He is worth recommending to anyone in the North West wanting a detailer (other detailers, including some on here, are available of course)

Just an update, my car is booked in with Sam at auto cleanse who is coming out on Sunday to carry out paint correction to remove the swirls and light scratches around the body work.

He will then be caring out a full interior and exterior detail.

I will update and try and put up some before and after pics once it's completed.

Looking forward to seeing the results. Keep us posted.

Have you had your training yet David?

Tomorrow Amanda, really looking forward to it! Glad you posted....was gonna PM you re your 135i photos in Flickr....they look the business, who did them? Feel free to PM me to prevent clogging up this thread.

I think all the ones in Flickr are my photos. The underground car park ones are from the car park next to Sainsburys in Urmston :) I have taken snaps of a couple of cars from there, it's a good spot at night

Update: I am not sure if Matt took the couple on his drive? At least the pics will help you find his place, as it's a bit funny the first time you go

It's not the first time I've visited Matt so should find it ok thanks!!

I wondered if your photos were taken professionally as they really were impressive. What were they taken on? I could do with a decent camera to provide the best opportunity to show off my work.

Just a Canon 7D. You can pick them up for around £300 plus the price of a lens :) The Car Park I use makes cars that are fairly neutral in colour look like the pics you saw on Flickr. I tweaked them a little, but there is something about the light in that place :)
