Fitting a sofa in a Citigo ...

Featured Replies

New owner of Citigo Colour Edition here

I have ambitious ideas of fitting an Ikea sofa into the Citigo. I've been out with a tape measure, and the stumbling block to my plan is the front passenger seat (specifically the headrest). Now, if I could only get the front seat to fold forward flat (which I'm sure I read was an option on all but the lowest spec Citigos), or remove it completely, I reckon I could do it. Any ideas how I can make this happen?

I will of course provide pictures when success is achieved!

spanners will make it happen...

I figure it might. Slightly concerned about messing up the airbags though, so the folding option is preferable. I can see photos of this fabled folding seat on the Skoda Czech website, but no evidence of this happening over here ...

You could unpack it from the shipping boxes in the Ikea carpark?

rent a car for the day...

Have IKEA deliver it.

Shouldn't mess up the airbags, if you take the seat out (the front) you will obviously have a airbag light, but putting it back in and plugging the airbag back in will remove the warning light (I've been down the path of driving with a missing front seat before so I know) just ensure you disconnect the battery before fiddling with it, I assume you know how to get both front and rear seats out (including the rear seat bracket) but drop me a PM if you need a hand, those plugs for the seat can be a pita

Edit - I see what you mean about the front seat :wonder: I've never seen that before, it might not be a UK option given that's a RHD car

Fold it in half?

So, I just went for the man-with-van option. It wasn't a new Ikea item, but a Gumtree special (otherwise I would've used instore delivery) and we ended up getting a much larger sofa than the one we'd first seen, so absolutely no way it would have fitted, even if I'd taken the dash out.

Still, somewhat frustrating that the full folding seat isn't an option (apparently) on UK Citigos; it would make a considerable difference to load capacity. Ah well.
