Dent

Featured Replies

Gutted. Just got myself a mk3 2014 Vrs and have put a small dent in my C-post just my leaning on it/pushing off with my forearm/elbow. Does anyone know how easy it would be to get paintless dent removal done? I believe access would have to be gained to the back of the panel in question.

Seen a video somewhere recently, where using a heat source, ie hair dryer, on dent, then quickly cooling with a compressed air can, popped a dent out with no further action needed, depending on how bad the dent is it might be worth a go. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y9OGa9vB42Q.

Do the likes of Halfords do kits  to suck dents out, or freeze them out..........

Best to get a PDR guy out.

They gain access to the dent from the rear and work it out with gentle pushes.

The heat/cold techniques only work on certain type of dents and without a pic or or view of the inside of the panel (may be bonding) then its not worth trying as it may become worse. £60.00 should sort it

Some bas***d put a dent in my 4 week old 230 passenger door last week. PDR man coming to fix it next week. I once had a dent right over the crease on the wheel arch of a TT...30 mins in the hands of the pdr man, and you would never have known, they are really good :-)

Did exactly the same thing myself while changing a wheel, rested on the c pillar and dented it. seems like the panel is made of tinfoil....

Rang a few PDR people and a few wouldnt touch it as they said they cannot gain access to the rear of the panel. The guy who fixed it used the glue and pull method. Took him about an hour to complete but he was a perfectionist and the result is flawless. £90 well spent.

I had 2 small dents in mine (doors being opened onto mine) and had a PDR man fix them and there absolutely perfect, honestly you would never know. Worth every penny, I paid £60 all in.

I recommend PDR if you want you car to look like new again!

I can't believe a small dent has appeared in my C pillar too, I have tried applying a suction cup to it but it hasn't improved things, it is very small and shallow so I thought it would pop out easily, not so. Does anyone know how to access this from inside so it can be pushed out? don't really want to go the proffecional route having just  forked out for a total roof respray. Car only has 6000 miles on it, Turning out to be a little damage prone :C

Slightly off topic, my wife's DS3 had a dent on the passenger front door, a friend was confident he could remove the dent with a clever suction device. Little did I know it was a pink d1ldo. Cue Sunday morning gripping his pink thing, go some funny looks from neighbours and passers by...... but it worked.

Always PDR if you want it repaired properly...

I used to get a group of work colleagues / like minded car enthusiasts to all meet in one place; if the PDR guy has a number of cars to do at once you can usually negotiate a much better price. Why not try one of your local Briskoda meets to arrange?

Alternatively, meet the PDR specialist whilst at the dealership, so that they do not have to travel.

If anyone needs a dent sorting in Somerset, Wilts, Dorset or Devon, give Steve at dentpusher.co.uk a shout.

(No connection to him, just a great, reasonably-priced service).
