Noticed the vRS 4x4 option is not on the configurator any more and the latest brochure says available from stock only.  Anyone heard anything about it being dropped already?

It was dropped about 6 weeks ago along with the 230 Vrs

 

Stock orderes from the cut off date weren't built, like the 230, only Customer orders were honourd

Shame they drop this after such a short time This was going to be my next car but now I have to rethink what to get next ☹️

Probably because they sell in small numbers, and not cost effective to put down the production line for RHD models?

 

(This is not saying they're bad cars. They're not.)

order book closed on 2nd of August along with 230, I really wanted the 4x4 vRS but didn't want an automatic so went for 230 instead and ordered on 1st of August, the day before order book closed!

I wonder why they have both been dropped?

 

Facelifted Octavia out in early 2017?.

I was about to say that if it was stopped only due to the facelift coming then they wouldn't still be offering it in other countries

 

then I noticed there are NO vRS Octavias of any sort mentioned on the German website configurator

 

However, the French and Austrian sites will still let you configure a RS 230 or a 4x4 diesel RS

Maybe they will combine the two? A 4x4 230 vRS would be very nice. Don't think that will happen though.

It's still on the Ireland website too. 

Low £ -> € exchange rate anything to do with it do you reckon? 

We heard last week the TSI AWD VRS Octavia with the Golf R motor is coming after the facelift so some time in next 12 months as a std order car, not limited special like the 230 was. Dealer rang and told us.

The only TDI VRS wagon available is the AWD version from now on too over here. 

Maybe the dealers in NZ are better informed than they are here, I think generally you need to add some scepticism when a dealer says something about an upcoming model that hasn't even been unearthed or mentioned by the usual spy journalists.
