Anyone know what connector to buy for the fuse board?

Featured Replies

I understand suk tend to sell things called 'repair wires' which pretty much are the connectors for various blocks BUT have a yellow wire already crimped on, but does anyone have any idea, or even better a picture, of what spade type connector it is I would need to get off ebay or whatever which would allow me to wire the positive side of something straight into a spare slot on the back of the fuse board? In other words, once it's crimped/soldered on, I just want to push it straight into the back of the board as a new fuse placement.

Had a look on ebay, but I don't know what I'm looking for so have no idea what's what. :dull:

And before anyone mentions them, I don't want a piggyback thing or scotchblock, just a brand new fuse board allocation, cheers.

I'm guessing this gives a better representation of what the connectors look like...

Good man, was just about to post that it's looking more likely that it's VERY hard to get just the terminals!! :)

Okay, so by the look of it, the generic term for these connectors... are we all listening.... are JT Female terminal connectors for the mini-blade fuses and JPT Female terminal connectors for the standard size blade fuses, and unless I'm mistaken, they're made or at least designated by Bosch. I believe JPT stands for Junior Power Timer although I don't know what JT stands for.

Here endeth the lesson... and I hope I'm correct! :)

That first website said VW was trying to take it down so thought it might be prudent for future reference for anyone else wanting them, just in case, to put the part numbers on here:

Repair Wire or Terminals for additional circuits

To install new circuits you require either repair wire (two terminals on the end of one short cable, cut the cable in the middle and join the two cables to the new circuits) or terminals (not recommended see below for details).

The small fuses in the fusebox use the 2.8mm terminals. The terminals are the same size but the repair wires are different sizes. I used the 1.0mm wire size for this guide.

  • 000 979 021 (000979021): 0.5mm wire
  • 000 979 133 (000979133): 1.0mm wire (used for this guide)
  • 000 979 225 (000979225): 2.5mm wire

Crimp on pins are available as well but I recommend the repair wires unless you’re familiar with the crimping process:

  • N 906 844 05 (N90684405): for 1.0mm wire
  • N 906 845 05 (N90684505): for 2.5mm wire

The large fuses in the fusebox use the 4.8mm terminals. The terminals are the same size but the repair wires are different sizes. These were not installed in this guide but the process is identical.

  • 000 979 023 (000979023): 0.5mm wire
  • 000 979 135 (000979135): 1.0mm wire
  • 000 979 227 (000979227): 2.5mm wire
  • 000 979 306 (000979306): 4.0mm wire

Crimp on pins are available as well but I recommend the repair wires unless you’re familiar with the crimping process:

  • N 907 326 03 (N90732603): for 1.0mm wire
  • N 907 327 03 (N90732703): for 2.5mm wire
  • N 906 966 03 (N90696603): for 4.0mm wire
  • N 904 221 02 (N90422102): for 6.0mm wire
