Octavia VRS MK2 Clutch Slipping CCZA

Featured Replies

Have recently fitted a ram air induction kit and Miltek cat-back system and now my clutch is slipping - I had planned on doing the clutch eventually anyway I just don't know what part numbers for the Sachs kit I need. Should I replace the DMF as well as the car has only done 55k. When i bought the car 3 months ago I was told that the car had already been mapped but not sure which map it was.

Any help would be brilliant thanks.

My novice opinion is that at 55k you shouldn't need to do it, but for the cost of longevity with a map, you may as well whilst the clutch is being done.

Not sure about the sachs kit but yours is a Tsi not Tfsi. They changed with face lift around 2007-2008 iirc so be careful you get the right model.

Oh and if it helps i have Miltek cat back, Shark stage 1 remap and k&n filter and my original clutch is on 90k miles.

Are you sure its clutch slip i thought i had clutch slip because my bite point was high and i was getting bogged down

the revs were going up quick but the speed not much . However mine ended up being a burst diaphragm in the

Diverter valve so the Turbo wasn't getting boost pressure. diverter valve changed and i get awesome performance

bite point still high though.

Pretty sure its clutch slip as when I floor it in all gears around 3-4k rpm it sounds like its over-revving before going back to normal

Just getting some prices at the moment as know someone who can do the job cash in hand

Unless you definitely want to go SMF, budget to pay for a new DMF but don't buy it until it's confirmed that the flywheel needs replacing, which can't be done with the bellhousing in place unless you have diagnostic noises that you haven't reported.
