Boot requires extra force to shut?

Featured Replies

Not had my Fabia much long and I've noticed each time I shut the boot, it's never shut properly because I'm used to gently pushing it like all my previous cars. I have to use extra force and slam the boot right for it to shut. I don't know if it's a problem with mine or if this is normal? My old car was MK5 Golf, Corsa C and EK Civic and I never needed to push the boot hard for it to shut.

Mine shuts quite easily with just a gentle drop. You could try adjusting the striker thingy.

Or a touch of oil on the two rams?

As above, sounds like it could be the rams.

I'm not sure; my Octy takes a fair tug to get the tailgate to state moving down, but it closes positively, which makes me think the rams are still well charged.

For the OP - Do you have worries about the gate staying properly open in a wind?
