Does anyone know how to remove and replace the lower glove box lid?

 

I damaged mine carrying something to large for the car,  I got hold of a replacement off eBay but I cant work out how it all comes apart

 

any details and pictures gratefully received.

No help im sure but i tried to remove mine recently and couldnt work it out either!

if you open the top part above the glvoe box and remove some torx screws and give it a pull that will come out so you should be able to see the fixing for the glove box.

It looks like its glued / bonded to the full dash somehow!

these pictures show the inside of the glove box and the pins on the lid that hold it in place but I cant work out how it all opens up

 

 

 

the top glove box comes off easily, I've taken some pictures in case anyone needs to change the bulb in the glove box, first undo these two screws

 

 

then pull the whole section upwards and you have got access to the light fitting

 

 

unfortunately it doesn't help me as I still cant get the lower lid off!

From what i've seen in ElsaWin it appears you almost have to take the whole dash out and its either integrated or at least fastened behind other parts. Tried everything short of brute-force and ignorance when installing MDI in my mums and wife's fabias - eventually got the centre console/radio surround out and still no luck!!

oh bother, the damaged door is really bugging me but I don't want to break something else replacing it!

Anyone ever worked out how to remove the glove box door? 

only a thought but can you prise off the front part with plastic tools and replace just that panel?

it looks like it should come apart but it wont budge, i think it must be stuck together and i don't want to break it......

Cant say I blame you. I have a small, fairly unobtrusive scratch on mine but I would not go to the trouble of stripping the dash to swap it. A face off procedure might have been an option but...
