Pikey mods - are they really worth doing??

Featured Replies

If you look when doing "pikey mod 2", there is almost a cold air feed straight to the intercooler anyway, the air is forced into it.

Having said that I too have thought about maybe adding a second cold air feed. I think it may require some cutting into the bumbper, either underneath or from the lower front centre below the number plate.

I'm not sure it'd matter though how much air was forced into it, the intercooler itself is very small and i'm not sure how effective it actually is.

These are cheap and effective mods for free. If you really want cooling, get an FMIC :D

You could always put on an intercooler spray aswell ;)

How easy are these to fit / remove?

How much is the TT arch liner?

Do you remove the trim from both fog lights as it might look silly?

Why go to the cost of an arch liner...I went to Homebase got a house air vent, cut a hole in the air and fixed the air vent to the liner.

Cost no more than a tenner and around 30mins of my time. Looks the mutts as well.

No longer needed due having a FMIC.

in all fairness adrian, the tt arch liner only costs £5 more and IMO anyway has a more professional look.

whats the exact price of the TT liner / how easy is it to fit and where you get it, I did a quick search but havent been able to find this info on the site

look on the 1st page of this topic and there is a link to the thread which contains the part number :D.

It's

Here's the part number to save you time:

It's 8N0 821 172 B "WHEEL HOUSING".

And it's for the Off Side Front.

Yes, bought the liner just for the vent. The TT arch liner doesn't fit. If you see the thread on the 1st page on this topic there is a link to how me & devonutopia (jason) did it.
