Interior LEDs alternative to super Skoda

Recommended Posts

I know there are numerous threads on interior but just curious if it's worth buying these from super Skoda or just led bulbs

http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/FABIA-III/Lights/

Looking at front and rears and the boot light

Or should I just buy led bulbs if so what is everyone using

Thank you

Fitted them in the Yeti, the boot and rear lights are brilliant and much brighter than just replacement LED’s, the front ones are far too blue for my liking though, so would opt for replacement LED bulbs.

Just buy them from eBay - I bought mine from PUL shop

Front:

1x 41mm Festoon (6 led)

2x w5w 501 (6led)

1x w5w 501 - Glove box - bought ones that have all leds on same side as they shine in one direction (same for boot light)

Rear:

2x 36/37mm Festoon (6 led) for rear seat headliner lights.

Very bright white light and illuminates the inside very well.

About £12 for the full set with next day delivery.

Just resurrecting this thread just to query the glove box and boot light are the w5w 501 or festoon 38/41mm type

my wife is away in the car for a few days so I can't check I wanted to order them and have them here when she gets back

Thanks

You need the w5w 501 LEDs for the glove box and boot.

My advice is get the ones with all the LEDs on the same side.

The glove box unit is a bit hard work.

Thanks with you saying all the LEDs on side I got a bit confused thinking it would be a festoon not a wedge bulb

Thank you again

I'm interested in doing this but have been on PUL shop and it's so confusing. A simple search for "w5w 501 LED", brings up 323 results.

Don't suppose someone would be kind enough to give direct links for each bulb required?

Had a look in the car and see there are three lights at the front of the car in the headlining above the front windscreen.

Then the two rear passengers have these above the windows.

Do all those bulbs you've kindly listed cover these ones?

Your first photo takes the 41mm Festoon in the centre and the two W5W (ebay id 370834202219) either side.

The second photo in the headliner at both sides take the smaller 37mm Festoon bulbs.

These look exactly like the ones I have fitted... still going strong having been in my Fabia for the past 6 months.

LEDs came today.

I've fitted the three in the front for the driver/passenger. Nice and easy.

Managed to make a balls-up of the rear passenger dome light. The spring clip was a nightmare to try and push in and I bent it too far in. Eventually got the fitting out but in trying to bend the spring clip back into shape, it snapped. So now I've got to find a new clip or make one. My DIY attempts are forever making good after the event.

Anyway, the lamps I did get fitted are lovely and bright compared to the originals.

@Osmosis

Snap! (literally)

I broke both my rear light clips! total nightmare to remove them see post 13 here >

I replaced them with full units pre installed with loads of LED's for £40 the pair, as you can't buy just the clips and Skoda want £30 each for replacements. I didn't fancy second hand units on my new car either.

Talk about bright! its like bright daylight when you unlock the car at night! B)
