Snap! (literally)

I broke both my rear light clips! total nightmare to remove them see post 13 here >

I replaced them with full units pre installed with loads of LED's for £40 the pair, as you can't buy just the clips and Skoda want £30 each for replacements. I didn't fancy second hand units on my new car either.

Talk about bright! its like bright daylight when you unlock the car at night! B)

Glad it's not just me. I might get one from China, only £5 something and I only want the clip. Have to wait an age though.

Yeah, I saw them and thought the same

I've fixed it. Found some brass picture hanging clips that are the right width and thickness.

Squidged with pliers to rough(ish) shape and tin snipped to length. I'd prefer an original clip but it works so I'll try and forget all about it now.

It's like daylight in the car now.

Hi.

I ordered a few things from superskoda.com

I just want to warn people that the rear interior led light set dosen't match with the front light housing and roof in color and if you look att the manufacture stamp.

It says, at least that mine where made in april 2012. And there was no Fabia Mk3 back then.

And also the trunk light they sell that also should match the light in the glove compartment dont fit. It's to big.

I have a Fabia model 2017.

And also when i complained about this to them, i was treated wery rude. And if i wanted a refound i had to pay to ship the things back myself to them.

Eaven that they where at fault.

Just want you to take notice of this before you order from them.

I have just installed the LEDs from eBay, it was a fairly simple operation - but I'm a bit bummed that the color is slightly different between the center light and the two next to it.

When installing led bulbs, look and see if they are the same led diode types and if the light bulb looks similar in design maby only length difference or so (as Close as you can).

And also if possible, buy from the same website. Two great sites to get rare and special bulbs that i found is: http://www.auto-lighting.co.uk and http://stores.ebay.com/LED-Bulbs-for-Classic-Cars

Also if the light is can bus compatible and you still get a warning and the light works, turn it 180 degrees and see if it goes away. (some led lights can still work even if it's installed the wrong way but they throw fault codes then).

If all else fails, then use VCDS preferably with the new HEX-V2 Enthusiast adapter (mutch faster scanning and finds control modules older interfaces don't recognise).

I use this attached list for finding right bulb channel. Don't remember if ill got it from here but credit to the one who posted it in the first place.

Hope you don't mind me using it in this post (good stuff).

Good luck swapping lights... :-)

What interface did you use that didn't recognise controllers?

My old HEX+CAN read everything my newer HEX-NET reads, albeit slightly slower.

Hi Gizmo68.

I have a AI-USB-CAN  and a HEX-V2 from Swedish Ross-Tech.

The Swedish version off Vag-com that i use is a translation of the English one and is a lower rev than the English one.

I have been told from Swedish Ross-Tech that the old interface can have problems with newer cars from 2017 and up.

And as he modifies the English to Swedish version of Vag-com. I have no clue if it's the adaptor rev, program rev, or both.

That is what i have been told. I assume if you use the English version with a higher rev number it will work better.

I have also been told that providing Swedish Ross-Tech with autoscans will further help the development of the Swedish software.

Thats what i now for now.
