Prospective 1.0 MPI Buyer, Some Questions...

Featured Replies

As promised the results of my South Devon trip. The return , 231 miles at average speed of 59.49 mph, fuel consumption 50.894 mpg. General cruising between 65 and 75 mph with a 8 mile stretch at 50 mph. Total for the trip, 579 miles at average of 49 mpg. The drive down was a lot more stop start than the return due to traffic conditions.

That's interesting to hear. I got 52 mpg (indicated) on my last run down to Wiltshire, sitting at an indicated **something slightly naughty, but only slightly** with plenty of traffic at times too, and that's in my 1.2 TSI. I'm averaging 45 or so (again, indicated) with mostly town driving. I was slightly concerned that going for the 1.0 might be better on fuel in the real world, but it seems that's not the case! They seem pretty evenly matched.
