Leon Cupra 280bhp vs Octy VRS 230 bhp? Why?

Featured Replies

How come the Seat Leon 1.8T Cupra 210 and 225 can be chipped to 280bhp 280 ft/lb torque while the Octy VRS can only be chipped to 230bhp (not sure on torque)?

I know I have trouble with traction with just a Jabba remap on my Octy! Does everyone else have the same?

ps. Anyone selling or know where I can get some Octy high intensity headlights?

the cupra runs a diffrent tubo setup... k04 instead of k03s that the octys have... there are also other diffrences...

I think i seem to remember the injectors are different for one.... could be wrong though, as i'm a numpty when it comes to these things lol

They're not the same engine is the simple answer. Lots of differences but as mentioned the main difference is the turbo.

The tractability, response and low-mid range grunt of a re-mapped Octavia is ideal for road rather than out an out race driving. Would some of this be lost with the Cupra R/TT 225 engine or is it just as good or better?

Twin intercoolers as well I believe

My mates chipped 225 was awsomely quick, once the traction light stopped flashing !!!

exhaust manifold

turbo

injectors

rods

pistons

twin side mount intercoolers

3"maf housing

thats what i can remember off the top of my head :)

I read around 14whp less than the better stage 2 Revo'd LCR's, similar to some other remapped LCR's and better the one!!

These are figures taken on the same day, same dyno - Awesome GTI for the record.

Mine is the Silver Golf, not bad for a K03s!!
