How old is my New Superb?

Featured Replies

Collected my New Superb SE-L Exec today. It was an instock order as I needed it quickly. Question is how do I tell how long it may of been hanging around for? It only had 20 miles on it but it's a MY2016 car as it has the old mirror. Didn't they stop building them back in may???

Is there anyway of finding this info out?

If you have access to the Skoda service app you can enter your VIN and see the date of production and date of first registration. It also records your service visits and accesses the handbooks. Very useful.

I don't think it is that unusual, my 1st March 13 registered Suberb pre facelift was delivered to them in mid December 12. It was a dealer demonstrator which I then bought in September 13. I can't say that it has been any less reliable for it's three month stay in a compound somewhere.

My previous ex-Audi Uk A4 was the same, it had a PDI done two months before it was registered to Audi Uk

It's not a huge issue, just feel a bit frustrated about missing out on the latest tweaks.

The mirror can be retro-fitted if it bothers you that much,

anything else you are ‘missing’?

Was the car sold as a MY17 car ?

It wasn't specified as either..(PCH deal completed over the phone) my assumption that being "new" that it would of almost certainly been a MY2017 car seeing how they went over to them back in may I believe?

I did notice that, thanks Gizmo! Oddly the other missing feature is the sunglasses compartment next to the sunroof controls. The car in the show room had this. Mine doesn't. It's trivial I know! Haha

To my knowledge if you have the sunroof you don't get the sunglasses compartment, I could be wrong though.

A lot of cars with panno roofs lose this option in the Skoda range.

I take it you have a sunroof ?

Ahh that makes a bit of sense! Yes I have the Sunroof. I'm going to check out the VIN number today also

19th April it was Produced. So some 6 months it's been hanging around. That explains some things... Not a huge issue

The Mark II Superb gets a sunglasses holder as well as the sunroof - it's so small I've only ever found one pair of sunglasses (Which weren't mine) that would actually fit in it, so they might as well not have bothered. It's much bigger in the Superb III without the sunroof anyway. I haven't seen one with a sunroof yet.
