Diesel Fuel Filter Change - Blue Knuckle Duster?

Featured Replies

Just got a Mann fuel filter for my BKD TDi to change tomorrow. Notice in box is a small blue plastic thing that looks like a knuckle duster for a toddler. Any idea what it is? I'm stumped

It's a gasket for where the lid fits onto the top of the filter. You'll see when you take the old one off (presuming you bought the correct filter of course).

Is it maybe a standard item for a different vehicle, if the filter fits several different vehicles?

Rusty nuts is correct, my last octavia had a BKD engine and the fuel filter should come with the blue gasket and a black or green ring (I think this us manufacturer dependant as I've had both) that goes between the lid and the housing.

The blue gasket sits in a similar shaped recess and matches up to the pipes on the lid.
