Yeti gone mad!

Featured Replies

After a week away and not using the Yeti, today was the first day of iced up windscreen. On starting the car I immediately switched the screen heater (electric) on, my day started to get a little worse. No evidence that the heater was working was seen, (the screen has recently been changed due to a crack so maybe I need to get the fitter back).

A little later I discovered that the one shot opening/closing function on the drivers window is now not working, the sound of an incoming call on the hands free is a mixture of a ring tone (not the one there used to be) and the radio, both at the same time. Also the door mirrors will not now fold using the key fob.

Any ideas before I go to see the dealer?

Thanks,

Steve.

Low voltage from the battery? That causes all sorts of random electrical gremlins even if there's enough juice to start it up.

To sort the window and mirror problem.
Find out what window has lost the one touch function.
Close it and release the switch, now hold it up again for about 5 seconds.

The one shot window function and mirror fold from key should now be restored.

Are you sure the windscreen is a heated version that he fitted?

Thanks for the advice on the key fob, the window was the second they fetched as the first was for a classic not an FL , it looks as if it has wires in.

5 month old car used more than regularly shouldn't lose charge in one week. The previous yeti never lost charge in 3 weeks.

I'll try the fob cure tomorrow.

Thanks.

I would suggest low battery voltage and wrong key (out of two?).

Warning: After a period of not using any car, always start the car first before turning on anything...

The window reset for the key fob worked just fine.

I agree with the warning above re starting the engine before switching anything else on.

I will have to watch the battery voltage as the car is not used for multiple short journeys, usually long ones, and it has been left for over 3 weeks before and started first time with none of the little glitches of needing resets etc.
