Camelot alloys

Featured Replies

Our previous Spaceback came from factory with a set of Camelot alloys, which personally I wasn't taken with, so I replaced them and eventually relegated the Camelots to winter use shod with some excellent Nokian tyres.

However with recent frosts I decided to fit them to the Toledo and they seem to suite this car much better (maybe more so than its factory titanium finished  'Design' alloys); not sure if its the notch-back profile, or black paint finish, or a combination of both.

Toledo FR-line comes with Camelots too but in anthracite rather than silver.

I wanted to trade my Toledo for an I-tech, but I didn't like the titanium wheels you have, they just look too small against most of the paint colour options.

Agree the titanium finished Design alloys do look a bit lost on the car and can understand why the Style Advanced trim which replaced the ITECH from MY16, comes on 17" silver finished wheels. Normally I'd prefer less wheel and more rubber on a car with living and working in a rural area but from my experience the Rapid family does appear to be at its best on the 17" rims.

As a side note and from what images I've seen I'm not sure if the FR-Line uses Camelots, although the design is very similar.

The Ibiza has a wide range of factory option wheels which are the exact fitment. I really like the Tagus rim, but it comes in at least 3 colours so it complicates the decision since the balance between wheel and body colours is quite critical to the look.
