How big is the fuel tank?

Featured Replies

I've recently allowed my 1.4 ACT estate to get rather low in the fuel tank so I pulled into a petrol station for a fill up and managed to get 70.66 ltrs into my 66 ltr tank, inquiries at the POS assured me that the pumps had been recently checked by Weights and Measures (large company no reason to doubt).  Called that fount of all wisdom, Customer Support at Skoda UK and got told that their are a variety of sizes of fuel tanks fitted but they could not tell me what size is fitted to my car.  Does anyone have a definitive list?  It would be nice to know just how much the car does hold.  Checked my manual and on-line brochure but I do not have access to a full manual which may clear up this point.

The tank is rumored to have 66 l plus the reserve

Many put 66+ when just reach the red light

Specification states 65 litres but you'll find plenty of posts on here where owners have filled up more than that figure, myself included!

I drove my 280 as far as I would have dared on empty getting down to 25 miles to go according to the read out and got just under 64 litres into it, this would mean a 66 litre tank I would say.

Many thanks, sorry for starting this thread again I didn't realise how well it had been covered in the past.
