Skoda yeti reversing sensors

Featured Replies

I have skoda yeti MY13. recently i noticed that the reversing sensors stopped working. I used to have graphic pic on Bolero and beeping sounds when the reverse gear was selected. now I have no sounds no pic on bolero screen.

Today I put the reverse gear in without starting the ignition, just to see which sensor was faulty. All of the sensors were working but still no beeping sounds and no graphic pic on Bolero.

Is there any way to get the sensors fixed without taking it to a dealer?

Try removing and reinstalling the main fuse for the radio. Fuse No 8 under the bonnet - a 15 amp (Blue) one if I remember it all correctly (Leave it disconnected for a few moments for the capacitors to discharge). This will cause the system to re-boot and hopefully all will be well. Don't worry about the radio code, It is picked up automatically from the dashboard (ECU).

This usually works with getting rid of any gremlins that appear spasmodically. Hope this helps - let us know?..............Tony

How do you know the sensors are working if no visual or sound?

Thanks for the reply Tony. I removed the fuse for nearly half an hour but still nothing happened. actually it didn't re boot the radio as it didn't ask me for the code to enter........

If you put the car into reverse with motor running the sensors themselves emit a low beeping sound that indicates they are working,

The car ECU stores the infotainment system code, it saw that it was the same Bolero installed so would not ask for the code.

Are you saying that the sensors themselves emit sound?

put the gear in revers WITHOUT motor running, then you go to back of your car and touch all the sensors then give you clicking noise. that means the sensors are working apparently. I watched it on Youtube and I tried on my car. same thing happened. so I'm guessing the sensors are working but doesn't show up on Bolero and doesn't give me any beeping sounds...

Then it sounds like something is disconnected or broken.

Couple of things to try.

Is the light showing on the sensors button when manually pressed?

Are your reversing lights working?

What sensor button?

The reversing ones don't have a button.

You are right, forgetting about just having rears

yes reversing lights are working so it makes me wonder why I don't hear the beeping noise and don't see anything on the Bolero screen.....

The bolero has to be on of course...

Depends on age?  Mine (see sig below) is off far more than on but the reversing alarm diagram always appears.

Have a look in the menus to see what the beep volume is set at - perhaps that's turned to zero - wouldn't account for the lack of visuals though. Failing that, it's a dealer visit if still under warranty or a auto electronics specialist if it isn't.

And mine. Visual display shows even when radio is off.

I think I have to take it to a dealer or specialist. I checked the beep volume and frequency and I can't change any of those somehow. the number doesn't go up even or down....

Another question.  Does anyone know where the reverse sensor buzzer is?  I reckon that is the problem n might need to replace.

If you reverse lights are functional, definitely it is something to do with the sensor wiring . Have you done any repair job on your car dashboard prior to the fault.

Obviously the reverse sensor buzzer must be inside your dashboard

no i didn't do anything on my dashboard. just few weeks ago i noticed that the reversing sensor stopped working and now trying to find where the buzzer is so that i can replace and hopefully buzzer and the screen will work after replacing the buzzer...

On my Fabia with only reverse sensors the buzzer was in the light console behind the rear view mirror.

Isn't the rear sensor buzzer somewhere in the rear of the cabin and the front sensor buzzer in the front of the cabin? Sounds that way to me.

It is if you have front and rear sensors.

I finally fixed the reverse sensor. it was really difficult to fix. I guess it would've been easier if I knew where the buzzer was. I had to remove all the grab handles, all the pillar covers and the roof lining very very carefully as mine has side airbags...

the buzzer was located in the roof at rear of the luggage compartment on the right hand side. it was also difficult to remove the buzzer as it was almost impossible to see and it was riveted.

Id like to thank you all for your time and help.
