MIB1 Nav - My Position icon missing, well I can't find it!

Featured Replies

Just had my MIB1 updated to 0490, one of the problems that made me pursue a dealer update was that on occasions my unit decided I was in Germany when in fact I was in the UK, once on the M1 when I knew I was driving an Octavia and not a Tardis  so I guessed it had lost the plot.

This error was noted as one of faults. The dealer, on my collection advised that should this happen again (According to a memo from Skoda) I only needed to push the second button on the right, I had only seen 3 these being Compass, Elevation, and Zoom/Distance. So wondered how Elevation was the answer. When I got home I consulted the intuitive and informative :giggle:  manual where I found that on some photos there were 3 icons as mine and on others there were 4 icons and the one I needed was the second one down. I guess a sort of homing button saying 'here is where I is'

I cannot find any reference to how to activate this icon, on some photos its just not there, in some it is and on others it becomes a speed notification.

Please help

I've a feeling the button will only appear when your position is not centred on the map. So if your maps position moves away from where your car is (like it shows Germany) then the button will appear to allow you to recentre the maps on your position.

I had that button appear a few times and worked out that it appears when someone (driver or passenger) touches the map area, this freezes the map and stops it scrolling as the car moves.

Pressing the button that then appears will unfreeze the map.

Thanks guys.

Well , that makes sense! So the Amundsen knows its lost and gives the driver the opportunity to help it locate the cars position.  Simply Clever
