You really can't beat those 19's for looks....

I was thinking about getting them power coated Gloss Black but once you add up the cost of the wheels then tyres things are getting a bit expensive, plus I'm after a Private plate

Trouble is when you paint them black they look even smaller! I have black Terons parked next to silver Terons and they look a good inch smaller

so, auric you wont have the fallen leave syndrome now

They look tiny. :o

How's the brake clearance?

Brake clearance is fine Hedge. The are the Standard Alloy wheel on a Cyprus spec Octavia MKIII Vrs, ( So I knew they would fit )  my friendly tyre place also used low profile  stick on balance weights.

18s might have been the best compromise looks/performance but winters that size can be pricey.

I like the design of the wheel though. And I'm probably in the minority, of not really liking the design of those 19s...  :bandit:

+1, the O.E. 19's are, for me, the worst choice ever.

The whole point of a 230 is that it has more toys, a bit more power & an LSD.

Better value than the normal vRS & apart from the wheels a great "Q" car.

I know that very few peeps will agree, but I really don't want anyone to notice my car.

It's why I enjoy owning a quick Superb & wish we could de-badge the Golf.

Any reason you went for the 94XL?

No reason really although the 94 XL will be a stronger tyre

Auric....get the car painted at the same time as it appears to be still in primer..... :D (i hate this colour....looks so bland)....only my opinion though.... :x

I only like the colour because the black pack Plus enhances the look, it the black pack wasn't available there would be no way I would have picked Meteor grey

The black pack certainly helps.....

How come you cant de-badge the Golf??

I'm picking up my winter wheels / tyres this weekend that I got from a well known auction site...

Only used for 3 months - 17" 215/45 Kumho winters, all with 6mm for the bargain price of £370. Pretty pleased with that.

These are the wheels that I'm getting below - shouldn't look too offensive on my L&K, though I'll miss the 18" anthracite / polished turbines.

I could probably remove the rear & side badges, but the the front badge is moulded as part of the front grille, & I'd not want to buy

another Golf grille to replace it.

What is strange though, is that there is no "Golf" wording on the back.

I take it these are 17's? Did you get them from the dealership or flea bay?

I assume you are talking about my wheels, I bought them off a member on here, Leon_y_K, he some how managed to get his hands on a Cyprus Spec Vrs which for some reason was in the UK.

These are the wheels, Dorado's

Front "R" badge should be able to be removed as it is listed as a separate part on ETKA....If not get the grille I have as my DRL/Xenon GT has the same chrome badge sides & chrome strip height to match the lights.

All the other side & rear "R" badges will removed with heat & fishing line.......also they don't put "Golf" as "R" is enough as it is stand-alone model....

Yes sorry should have quoted the post. They look like they fit perfectly over the front brakes. I had the misfortune of damaging one of my xtreme alloys so rather than pay 200quid for a space saver I was looking to invest in 4 winters. The original alloys didn't fair up well against a pot hole but the profile on yours look great for winter use

Motorpoint (?) had a bunch of cheap Cyprus Spec. vRS's for sale a few months back.

plus I'm after a Private plate

Specific to your name or to the car? I might have a good 'Skoda' plate for sale if you're after that sort of plate?
