Tyres

Featured Replies

I took delivery of my Superb 3 2.0TSi L&K DSG Estate just over a week ago.  I am delighted with my choice.

When I was taking a good detailed look around the car, I noticed that it is fitted with Hankook ventus prime 2 tyres.  Is this standard?  They are 235/45/18s so they are the expected size.  I have not heard anyone else mention having Hankook tyres on their Superb, they are mostly Pirellis AFAIK.  Are these good tyres, or are they a cheap option.  I am afraid that I don't know a lot about tyres, so I thought I would ask the experts.

Regards

Hankook are being used by a number of manufacturers now as original fit. I guess the stock of Pirellis ran out so they use whatever the alternative suppliers are and that are in stock at the factory...and there are often several.

Merc C class with 17 inch rims tend to come with Hankooks.

My L&K Combi also came with the same tires

These tyres are 235/40 r19 Pirelli on a L&K hatch DSG. Car delivered to dealer end of October. Skoda must be constantly swapping and changing tyres. But why the different tyre size? Did you ask for the the 18 rims? I thought 19 was standard on l&k

Each country has its own specification determined by the "import agent".

Skoda Ireland spec 19" Phoenix wheels whilst Skoda UK spec 18" Pegasus wheels.

My SE Business has Pirelli tyres fitted, god they are crap. No grip at all in the wet, had the same on Pirelli tyres in the past on various vehicles.

Thankfully got a set of winter tyres coming this week.
