Moisture ingress in mirror indicators

Featured Replies

Hey guys.

The other day I noticed little bubbles of moisture on the inside of the mirror indicator lens.

Has anyone else had an issue like this? The car is about 5 weeks old :I

Probably condensation as its starting to get cold now. The headlights and tail lights sometimes get some also.

Nothing to worry about unless they stop working or it begins to fill up.

Never seen condensation in mine...

When I changed my mirror puddle lights to LEDs I also took a closer look at the indicator.

It is a plastic welded (completely sealed) unit so probably something is wrong with yours?

If only one of them does this on your car it's better to show it to your dealer.

That tiny little orange indicator about 5mm square? Doubt if I can see any detail never mind condensation. But I have had condensation in various cars in the past. Always been temporary and use of the lights or a hairdryer has driven out the damp.

The exception was an aptly named Morris Marina.

The 5mm square is the end of a big strip running along the front of the mirror.

Ok, what I was looking at is the little orange repeater light ,next to the mirror, that I see when driving the car, possibly separate from the lens on the side of the mirror housing. No condensation visible in either after a car wash. I also find the flashing orange light a bit alarming and think another car is intruding rapidly.
