Is a radio code needed on RNS315 Amundsen+?

Featured Replies

About to replace the battery in our Spaceback. It's fitted with the RNS315 Amundsen+.

I can't find a radio code in our book pack, is it needed when the power is disconnected/reconnected or is the radio coded to the car?

No, the unit is remembered by the car when you reconnect the battery.

Thanks!

If I'm not mistaken, the radio code is permanently written on the radio side and it's stored in the EEPROM of the car's instrument cluster when you first install it (or by the factory). You will only need it if you replace the instrument cluster (or if you buy another radio of course). The dealer can generate the PIN code from the SKZ number on the radio label.
