Well got my Coming Home Lights sorted. It was indeed the "Coming Home Mode" that needed to be set to Personalisation 1.

 

Works regardless to the light switch position. Once you take the key out and push the stalk to full beam and open the door fog lights come on.  

Did you need to re code the car when the HIS came out, or did you just put in the halogens and it worked fine ? Any bulb errors?

I didn't have to actually record the headlights as I presumed the previous owner has not bother coding in the CAN HID's. 

It was a straight swap with the bulb and no errors whatsoever.
