Is there any way to get LED turn signals to work?

Featured Replies

Got some LED turn signals installed but I get a bulb out error and rapid indicator flashing, but it's intermittent, it comes and goes. Tried looking around in VCDS but didn't find anything that would allow LED to be installed, even tried disabling that cold diagnostics but without luck.

Is adding resistors the only solution?

On a 2014 MK2 FL you should have a BCM that supports LEDs, you just need to change the lighting configuration to correct the bulb warnings.

Unfortunately, VCDS can't do this. You'll need either VCP or ODIS-e....

Where are you? If you're around me I can sort it out for you :)

What's VCP and ODIS-e? So it's possible to adapt the car for LED in rear turn signals?

Nah, I'm in Sweden so it's too far but thanks though :D

Vag Can Pro is a 3rd party tool similiar to VCDS but more powerful (and harder to use).

Off-board Diagnostic Information System is the current official tool from VAG. There are two variants, Service and Engineering, the latter can be used to directly modify the light config.

Oh.

What kind of equipment do I need to be able to do the config, would a VCDS-cable do the trick or is there special cables for every program?

Different cables for each I'm afraid. VCP is similar in price to VCDS,

ODIS is super expensive although the hardware (VAS5054) and software have both been cloned.

And a simple VAS5054a clone from the bay won't be able to do this coding I presume? Should I go for the VCP clone maybe?

And how hard is the config? I'm pretty ok with VCDS, is the config straight on or does it require some hacking knowledge?
