possable problem

Featured Replies

When starting my car from cold , the choke afect comes on and normaly cuts off as soo as the engine is war enough.
Over the last few days it has bee started from cold, but the choke afect is still on even when up to full temp, its simular to a regen, turn off , restart and revs are back to the normal 800, is there a problem with the car, or could it have somthing to do with the cheat fix????

Just stopped and started it a few times , when starting the revs stick at 1000, turn off they drop back when restarted.

I'm in the wrong section, but have the new 150 bhp CR engine

Its not done it on mine over the full summer... but not we are in the 3'c temp early morning, it does it until the engine oil temp is upto around 75'c before is fully settles.

Cheers

At this time of year there is more load put on the cars battery. This is due to the cold weather and all he any gizmos we have (seat heaters, aircon, heated windscreens/mirrors etc) all wanting to run at the same time.

Have a look at your convenience consumers via your MIB to deep if there is a high load during these elevated RPM. If there isn't then your battery could be faulty or low in charge.

Also, switch off Stop Start for next few journeys to see if that improves the matter. No short trips mind, a good long drive might sort it.

Even with everything turned off, it wil still be the same.... if you disable the supplementary heater, i found it dropped the RPM... but that was only one test so need to try it a few times to confirm.

Its actually doing it, even though the engine /oil is hot, like last night due to it being minus 3 , the engine was never off for 6 hours, only had to turn it off for about 2 mins while I collected a customer, it then jumped back up to 1 K, and stayed there , until I quickly turn it off and back on

That's interesting then if it was fully up to temp...
